Children's Bread is a public forum for information, discussion, and advocacy of the welfare of children.
The well-being of children is one goal for which all varied people can unite their common interests and passions.
Children are unique in that they are the proverbial "clean slate" or "fresh start".
Children are our agenda for a new generation. Without them, none of us have a legacy; none of us live.
The inspiration for the name of this group, Children's Bread, is taken from the following passage:
"Jesus said, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs" (Mark 7:27).
Children's Bread is premised on the concept that children, irrespective of artificial distinctions such as race, nationality, religion, etc. have an inalienable, unconditional "bread" birthright, the "staff of life".
The "staves of life" are the staple or necessary things, especially food.
Children's Bread is a public forum for information, discussion, and advocacy of the welfare and well-being of children. A personal and collective state of well-being is characterized by a good or satisfactory condition of existence measured by health, happiness, and prosperity.
After identifying and prioritizing the relevant issues, Children's Bread will shift its campaign to advocating on behalf of children. This role is envisioned in Mark 7:27 by the act of distinguishing what is "meet for the children" and what is "cast to the dogs". Jesus seems to imply that children are being denied their due right. The end goal of Children's Bread is to restore to them what belongs to the children.
